Work Residencies Hospitalfield House

Hospitalfield House

In summer 2003 I was selected for a Royal Scottish Academy funded residency at Hospitalfield House, an arts centre in Arbroath on the East Coast of Scotland—a region bristling with an interesting mix of agricultural, coastal and military activity. I spent an unusually hot July exploring the local area and began to research ideas for a body of botanically themed work. At Hospitalfield I took lots of pictures of plant life in and around the house. I developed the print series Yield from these beginnings and made my first time-lapse film experiments whilst in residence.
