Re-Fuel: Harvey Road Service Station, Derby

Q-Arts is a not-for-profit arts and media organisation in Derby. Re-Fuel was part of sightings, an ongoing project dedicated to getting work out of the gallery into wider public view. Q-Arts commissioned six artists to create site-specific work for the advertising discs on petrol pump nozzles. The work was to centre on the theme of journeys and had to work on a small scale. The other challenge inherent in the project was to make the images stand out form the traditional advertising use of the space.
